My friend Vikki was very happy to receive one of my needle felted bears for her daughter, who just became a big sister! Brynn, who is 6 years old, asked what my last name was, and that is what she named her bear! How adorable is that?

My hubby is getting concerned with all of the "taxidermy" that is going up all over the house!

I just cant help it! I love this relief technique! I am desperately seeking some other samples from artists who do this technique...so if you are out there please send me a link to your site! I spend about 8 hours on these guys...which satisfies my need for instant gratification...as long as I can start and finish a project in the same day, I am a happy camper.

My first needle felted relief technique

The philosophy I live by is simply : the best way to learn is to just do it! This lion is a product of that, and I certainly learned a lot! Inspired by stumbling upon the awesome Birgitte Krag Hansen's website, I am thrilled with the results, and I am already planning many other relief type sculptures. It is fun and addicting to watch their faces come to life. I am so intrigued by needle felting because it is hard to believe you can sculpt such detail with one tiny little needle!

I was surfing for inspiration, and definitely found some from the incredibly talented Andrea Graham

This is my attempt at a river bed. Landscapes are so fun...however I felt like I couldn't stop adding to it. Finally it was exhaustion that decided when to call it quits! LOL.
